Tash Weatherill is one of Melbourne’s exciting up and coming Jazz Vocalists. Having just completed her studies at Monash University, Weatherill is already making regular appearances at Melbourne venues The Lui Bar and The Mayfair.
A 6-time vocal scholarship finalist at the Generations in Jazz Festival, Weatherill boasts performances with some of Australia’s finest musicians including James Morrison and Tony Gould.
The quartet is her newest project and features Nick Kyritsis on guitar, Paddy Fitzgerald on double bass, and Alex Spicer on drums. After a promising start performing to a sold-out crowd at Lido Jazz Room in February, they look forward to an exciting year ahead developing their own direction as a group. For their Festival performance, they will perform a collection of original music, compositions by some of their favourite musicians, and select tunes from the standard Jazz repertoire.
“A rare mix of class and guts,” Steve Sedergreen.
