Small Fish Big Pond

Tuesday 5 June, 7:00pm
Dizzy’s Jazz Club

There is a whole lot of Jazz artists and a very big pond to swim in, Dizzy's has gathered an exciting group of up and coming artists to feature in one night featuring four acts.

With names such as Lauren White who's group ‘Soultree’ performed for the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival 2017, and performed in prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House and the Iridium Jazz Club (NYC).

The Briar String Quartet a dynamic ensemble with classical roots and a keen interest in collaboration outside of their traditional genre. This Quartet was founded in late 2015 by violinist Navin Gulavita, violist Georgia Stibbard, and cellist Sage Fuller, while on a tour of Mainland China with the Australian International Opera Company.

Merinda Dias-Jayasinha, Brisbane-based jazz vocalist and composer. Recent graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium, studying with Irene Bartlett and Kristin Berardi. Joined by Melbourne-based guitarist Theo Carbo to play her original contemporary jazz compositions.

4th Element, a fresh Quartet who are mixing up traditional jazz and putting a spin on it. This Quartet is the youngest in our line up with some of the group studying VCE currently. Small Fish, Big Pond is a show that will challenge your view on jazz, show you the best new artists and be one big night of music.
