Born into jazz royalty, saxophonist and composer Joshua Redman never considered music a vocation. As a Harvard graduate accepted into Yale Law School, it was a gap year spent in Brooklyn that proved fateful as he cut his jazz teeth and immediately became absorbed in the thriving New York scene. A multiple Grammy Award nominee and winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition (1991), Redman has since gone on to become one of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists of his generation. An outstanding performer recognised for his energy, invention and artistry, Joshua Redman has led groups with jazz stars including Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Jack DeJohnette and Brad Mehldau. He will be performing with his characteristic trio featuring powerhouse rhythm section bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Greg Hutchinson.
