Tenor saxophonist Julien Wilson has been a major figure in the Australian jazz scene since the tender age of 22 when he took out first prize at the National Jazz Awards in 1994. Exploratory and adventurous, complex and passionate, Julien Wilson's improvisations naturally unfold with explosive energy and unbridled skill. A member of the Australian Art Orchestra, Wilson has worked with traditional Wagilak (Yolgnu) musicians from Arnhem Land, as well as George Garzone, Bob Moses and the Artie Shaw Orchestra. For this exclusive concert he will join forces with internationally celebrated New York drummer Jim Black.
