Future Leaders and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival present a national prize for artistic jazz excellence for emerging jazz musicians in years 10, 11 and 12. The award provides an unprecedented opportunity for young Australian jazz musicians to be acknowledged nationally by leading figures in the jazz industry and perform as ambassadors in the main stage program of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Six finalists were chosen from around Australia to come to Melbourne and have the once in a lifetime opportunity to be mentored and play alongside masters of jazz.
