COVID Safe practices at MIJF 2021

The safety of our artists, audiences and staff is our number one priority. We’re following Victorian Government guidelines and working with our venues to make sure that all events planned as part of the Festival are COVID-Safe. Vaccination

In line with Government requirements, audiences at all MIJF events during our festival in 2021 will be required to show proof of vaccination (or a valid exemption). You can find details on how to get your COVID-19 vaccination certificate here.

 

What must I do when attending events as part of MIJF

To protect your safety and that of our staff and artists, before attending any events at MIJF please take note of the following measures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Anyone aged over 12 years and 2 months must be fully vaccinated (or have a valid exemption) and show proof of vaccination status to enter a festival venue.
  • It is strongly recommended that you wear a fitted face mask, at some venues and in some circumstances masks will be required. Please make sure you carry a mask at all times.
  • You must check-in via the QR code and Services Victoria app when entering a festival venue.
  • Please maintain physical distancing, practice good hygiene and following the directions of venue staff for your safety and the safety of others.

If you, or someone you have been in contact with, are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or are waiting for the result of a COVID test please contact us to request a refund or exchange prior to the event.

What happens if I can’t make it to a show due to illness, boarder closures or other COVID related mishaps?

We know this is a weird year so we’ve introduced some flexibility to our ticketing policy so you can book with confidence. We want everyone at our Festival to be safe and happy, so if you can’t make it, just get in touch with us as soon as you know you can’t make it and we’ll talk you through your options.

If you purchased your ticket through the venue or an authorised seller, you’ll need to contact them directly.

 

What happens if an event is cancelled due to COVID restrictions?

In the event that COVID restrictions require us to cancel, reschedule or restrict capacities at one or more shows, ticketholders will be contacted directly with instructions and options for their purchase.

 

Festival Update

Following the release of the Victorian Government roadmap, the festival will not go ahead as planned in October. We’ve reprogrammed the festival into a jam-packed long weekend from 2-5 December. You can view the program here.
If had already bought tickets for our original dates in October, you will have recieved an email from our ticketing team. If you need to request a refund or exchange for a rescheduled show or you need any further information you can contact us on ticketing@melbournejazz.com.

If you purchased your tickets through a third party, they will be in contact.

 

Big Sunday Rescheduled to 2022

With the current restrictions on international travel unlikely to change this year, we have unfortunately had to reschedule our Big Sunday event. Big Sunday will now take place as part of the 2022 Melbourne International Jazz Festival with the same line-up on October 15, which is a Saturday. But it’s still big – you just get a sleep in the next day.

If you hold a Big Sunday ticket, it will be automatically shifted to this date, so there’s no need to act – you’re already in and we can’t wait to see you there. If you would like a refund, please contact Ticketek.
