DEVELOPMENT MANAGER               

Position Description - November 2019

The Melbourne International Jazz Festival is looking for a highly motivated and relationship-focused Development Manager to join our core team. Working in close collaboration with other key staff and departments, the role’s primary focus is to lead the Festival’s development activity, with broad involvement in the Festival’s strategic activities.

The organisation’s culture is one of open interaction, providing a valuable opportunity to learn more about all areas of festival operations in the context of Australia’s largest jazz festival.

The role requires an enthusiastic, highly organised and dedicated person who is capable of working autonomously but also works well as part of a small core team. The successful applicant will have a strong interest in, and knowledge of, music and the arts/not-for-profit sector.

MARKETING COORDINATOR

Position Description – November 2019

The Melbourne International Jazz Festival is looking for a highly motivated Marketing Coordinator to join our core team between January and June 2020. Working within the Marketing team, the role’s primary focus is supporting the delivery of the marketing and communications plan for the annual Festival.

This is a hands-on position that is an ideal role for anyone interested in expanding their marketing experience as it ranges across all areas of campaign delivery, with a particular focus on social media and online content rollout.

The organisation’s culture is one of open interaction, providing the valuable opportunity to learn more about all areas of festival operations in the context of Australia’s largest jazz festival. With over 70% of our income coming from earned revenue (including box office and development), this role goes right to the essence of a festival marketing campaign, which aims to maximise ticket sales while providing exceptional and memorable experiences for our audiences and stakeholders.

The position is a 6-month full-time contract commencing in early January 2020. The successful applicant will have a passion for marketing, experience in digital and social media communications campaign delivery, and thrive in a time-critical, outcome-focussed environment. A strong interest in, and knowledge of, music and the arts sector will be beneficial.
