When is the Melbourne International Jazz Festival?
The 2022 Melbourne International Jazz Festival will take place from 14—23 October 2022.
How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets will go on-sale on Thursday 18 August from 8am.
Tickets for most events can be purchased online through the Melbourne International Jazz Festival website. For any enquiries about the program or ticketing, please contact the MIJF office on (03) 9001 1388 or [email protected]
Depending on the event, tickets may be purchased through the venue where the event is occurring or an authorised seller and are sometimes available at the venue box office on the night (subject to availability).
Concessions and Companions
Holders of the following valid concession cards are eligible for concession price tickets, where available: Student Card (full-time), Carer Card, Health Care Card, Pension Card, Veterans Affairs Card, and all government-issued Seniors Cards. Concession price tickets also apply to children 16 years and under.
For tickets purchased through external ticketing agencies (not through MIJF), different concession may apply, please check the venue’s website and terms and conditions for details.
Proof of concession is required when purchasing or collecting your tickets and/or on entering the venue.
Companion card holders qualify for a complimentary ticket for their companion. Please contact Melbourne International Jazz Festival on (03) 9001 1388 or the event venue to purchase tickets.
Big Saturday info
If you hold a Big Sunday ticket from 2021, it has been automatically shifted to Big Saturday 2022: 15 October.
How do I get my tickets?
Tickets purchased through the Melbourne International Jazz Festival website will be emailed to you. Please make sure to check your spam or junk folders in case your tickets made there way there, instead of your inbox.
If you purchased your tickets through the venue or an authorised seller please contact the point of purchase directly.
Will there be conditions of entry to attend the 2022 Melbourne International Jazz Festival?
The safety of our artists, audiences and staff continues to be our number one priority. We’re following Victorian Government health guidelines and working with our venues to make sure that all events planned as part of the 2022 Festival are COVID-Safe.
Some key points:
- In line with Victorian Government health guidelines, audiences will no longer need to check-in or provide evidence of their vaccination status.
- By entering a MIJF event, you agree to abide by responsible health and safety measures including, but not limited to physical distancing where possible, mask wearing and sanitisation.
- In line with Victorian Government health guidelines, wearing a face mask indoors is strongly recommended.
COVID-19 Refunds and Exchanges
We are offering additional flexibility through our refund policy, at this time, to encourage you and members of your booking party to book tickets with confidence.
You will be entitled to a refund or exchange if you or a member of your booking party falls into any of these categories:
- You or they are required to self-isolate or quarantine (and the event falls within the isolation/quarantine period).
- You or they have COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 (including rapid antigen test), and/or are awaiting PCR test results (and the event falls within the period of awaiting test results).
Please contact us via email on [email protected] prior to 10am on the day of your performance. We are unable to guarantee a refund or exchange after the event.

A transaction fee of $4.40 (incl. GST) per transaction (not per ticket) will apply for all tickets purchased via MIJF online or over the phone.
For tickets purchased through external ticketing agencies (not through MIJF), different fees will apply. Please check the venue’s website for details.
