Aziza

Featuring Dave Holland, Chris Potter, Lionel Loueke and Eric Harland

Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall

Four titans of modern jazz (Holland/Potter/Loueke/Harland) reunite for a 10th anniversary celebration of their tour de force eponymous release.

In 2016, four jazz greats came together to create Aziza — the album that launched a formidable band. A decade on, they reunite to celebrate its 10th anniversary live in Melbourne.

Leading the all-star quartet Aziza is Dave Holland — a three-time GRAMMY winner, NEA Jazz Master, and one of the most influential bassists, composers and bandleaders in jazz history. Holland’s pivotal role in Miles Davis’ band was just the beginning of five decades of groundbreaking work that has continually reshaped what the bass can do.

Holland is joined by saxophone virtuoso Chris Potter, who DownBeat named “one of the most studied saxophonists on the planet”; visionary guitarist Lionel Loueke, described by mentor Herbie Hancock as “a musical painter,”; and Eric Harland, whose command and creativity have made him one of the most sought-after drummers in contemporary jazz.

“A supergroup in the truest sense” (DownBeat), Aziza brings four modern masters together for an electrifying finale to the 2026 Melbourne International Jazz Festival. If you only see one Jazz Fest concert this decade, make sure this is it.
