BIGYUKI is NYC’s musical secret weapon.

The New York-based, Japanese keyboardist, composer and producer has built an international reputation for blending jazz, hip hop, rock, electronic and dance music influences into something wholly his own. His unique sound has attracted collaborators from across the musical spectrum, with credits including landmark recordings with A Tribe Called Quest and J. Cole, tours with Kamasi Washington, and collaborations with artists including Lauryn Hill, Robert Glasper, Meshell Ndegeocello, Snarky Puppy, ATARASHII GAKKO and more.

But on stage with his own trio is where BIGYUKI truly comes alive. This is music that demands to be experienced in person: high-energy, unpredictable and utterly immersive. Expect thunderous grooves, explosive improvisation, deep bass and moments that veer from hypnotic to euphoric without warning. Born out of Melbourne/Naarm’s thriving live music and dance underground, Intermood have built a reputation for immersive, high-energy performances that drift between psychedelic jazz, cosmic disco and left-field electronic music. Loose, rhythmic and deeply movement-focused, the project has steadily evolved from packed local rooms into one of the city’s most exciting live dance acts, driven largely through word of mouth and an ever-growing connection with audiences.

Drawing influence from artists like Daft Punk, Soulwax and Todd Terje, their sound moves fluidly through shimmering synth work, driving percussion, dubby low-end and extended instrumental passages, balancing the pulse of club music with the spontaneity of a live band. There’s a warmth and looseness to the project that feels equally suited to late-night dancefloors, open-air festivals and long after-hours sessions.
