Venezuelan piano virtuoso Edward Simon is renowned for weaving a spellbinding fusion of jazz and Latin American rhythms. His exceptional artistry and profound emotional depth have garnered rave reviews over his illustrious career, with Downbeat praising his 2016 album Latin American Songbook as “grand and sophisticated”, and his 2014 release Venezuelan Suite as a “masterpiece.”
Join Simon and an ensemble of heavyweights from the US jazz scene for their MIJF debut, featuring his acclaimed original compositions and arrangements of standards by Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk.
