Canadian cellist Peggy Lee and drummer Dylan van der Schyff join forces with Australian saxophonist Julien Wilson and guitarist Theo Carbo in an innovative collaboration that combines the very best of Vancouver and Melbourne’s jazz and improvised music scenes.
Performing compositions from each member alongside expansive improvisations, Open Thread weaves anthemic melodies, diverse rhythmic structures and strikingly imaginative soundscapes into a collective sound that’s as challenging as it is rewarding.
Fresh off a Canadian tour and the release of their debut album in 2024, Open Thread returns to Melbourne with brand-new material — offering audiences an exciting preview of their forthcoming second release.
