A celebration of the next generation of jazz, featuring students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne — alongside GRAMMY‑winning pianist and composer Kris Davis.
Kris Davis has emerged as one of the most influential pianists and composers in contemporary jazz. Over the past two decades, the four-time DownBeat Pianist of the Year has released 25 recordings as a leader or co-leader and collaborated with a range of phenomenal artists including Esperanza Spalding, Dave Holland and Terri Lyne Carrington.
Following a series of intensive rehearsals, Jazz & Improvisation students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne will showcase the talent of Melbourne’s next generation of jazz, performing alongside the remarkable Davis, in an inspiring celebration of musical collaboration.
