Monash University Jazz Futures feat. Robert Hurst

Detroit-born bassist, composer and educator Robert Hurst has spent more than three decades at the centre of international jazz, performing on over 250 recordings and earning seven GRAMMY Awards. His remarkable career has included collaborations with artists ranging from Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock and Diana Krall to Sir Paul McCartney and Sting, alongside work on major film scores and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Following a series of intensive workshops and rehearsals with students from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance, Hurst joins Australia’s next generation of jazz musicians for a special performance celebrating creativity, collaboration and the enduring spirit of jazz.
